The doing is often more important than the outcome.” Petroleum & Gas Engineering Department, UET, Lahore, believes in the inevitable role of a fortified academia-industry collaboration for sustained excellence. With a view to further bolster existing cooperation across various domains, UET, Lahore and Schlumberger Seaco Inc. (Pakistan Branch) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar, Vice-Chancellor, UET, Lahore, and Mr. Zaurayze Tarique, Managing Director, Schlumberger (Pakistan & Yemen) signed the document on behalf of their respective organizations. The MoU signing ceremony was held at Vice-Chancellor’s Office, UET, Lahore, and was attended by senior faculty members from the University, including Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khurram Zahoor, Chairman, Petroleum & Gas Engineering Department, UET, Lahore, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zubair Abu-Bakar, Dean, Faculty of Earth Sciences & Engineering, Prof. Dr. -Ing. Naveed Ramzan, Dean, Faculty of Chemical, Metallurgical & Polymer Engineering, Prof. Dr. Saima Yasin, Chairperson, Chemical Engineering Department, UET, Lahore and Dr. Muhammad Shafiq, Director UA&EL. The signed MoU is expected to serve as an instrument for better streamlining of Schlumberger’s student-centered activities at UET, Lahore, such as recruitment drives, internship opportunities, technical sessions and instructional visits to Schlumberger facilities, for which the department has always been and will continue to be the focal point in future as well.
